Artist Karen Calhoun has a background and university degree in Fine Arts
and Art in Architecture, has operated two successful small businesses in
interior design, and has more than twenty years experience with the studio
arts. Her favorite subjects are drawn from the natural world and from the
Bible. Favorite media are oils and acrylics, and she also has talent with
fabric arts and digital photography. She lives in Texas with her husband.
Artwork can be created on commission. I can work from photos, your sketch, or even your idea! Size, media, fundamental color themes, and other details can be discussed by phone or email. For commissioned work, I require a 50% deposit on commissioning, and the balance due on delivery.

Karen was Featured Artist of the Month in March 2012 at the Galveston Art League. Here are some pictures from the Art Walk and reception in her honor!
Karen's art has won several awards. Her "SERENITY" work (Land & Sea, L-101) was selected as an inaugural addition to The Woodlands High School Art Trust.
In September 2011, her Still Life "ORANGE AND GRAPES", S-104, received second place in the Fall Galveston Art League juried exhibition.
Karen was recently featured at Tommy's Restaurant and Oyster Bar in Clear Lake. This exclusive show exhibited more than 25 of her most appealing works. This picture was taken at Tommy's, featuring the lovely "WATER LILLIES" from the Flora collection.
